WELCOME TO LAKE DISTRICT MASSAGE
Lake District Massage is here to help correct your issues, imbalances in soft tissue and to help you improve your health and longevity. This is done by reducing pain, managing soft tissue problems and improving your mobility. There are so many different techniques used within the methodology of Sport Massage; listing them may take a while.
What you need to know is that my focus is to help you as an individual improve your specific needs. You may be wondering if sport massage is for you. The short answer is yes. The manipulation of soft tissue is beneficial to anyone, whether you're an athlete, a regular gym goer or someone who is less active. All of us build stress and hold tension regardless of your lifestyle. Looking after yourself is crucial.
WHO AM I?
My name is Oli and I run Lake District Massage; I recently qualified as a Sport Massage therapist with DAHM Academy and I've been working as a Personal Trainer for almost 10 years now. Coming from a background of weightlifting and Functional Training, I've developed my skills and have found that my interests lie in helping people create a strong, mobile and functional body. I decided to add sport massage to my services because I'm facinated by anatomy and also to help people reduce their pain, improve their performance and learn about how they can improve their mobility. We all age, but we don't always age the same. Knowing how to look after your body and train in a way that gives you value outside the gym is something many of us missing. I hope to help you feel like your in 30s when you reach your 50's, 60's and beyond.

And many more…
During your sports massage session, you will be taken through some health and injury related questions to establish the best treatment method for you.
After this, we will proceed to work on the affected area and following the treatment, you will be advised on future treatment, as well as any self management techniques that are appropriate.
Truthfully? The pressure of a sports massage can get quite deep, which may cause some discomfort. However, it should never be too painful, and we will guide you through the treatment so you will know any discomfort you feel is the ‘right’ kind (i.e. the kind that’s going to help you feel better!)
Your feedback will also be important, so we can work together to get the best result for you, as comfortably as possible.

SPORT MASSAGE
Sports Massage is a form of soft tissue manual therapy that doesn’t just include massage. Fundamental massage techniques such as deep tissue massage are used and can form a large part of the treatment, however myofascial techniques such as soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques, trigger pointing and frictioning are all used as appropriate to the individual.
The goal here is to improve your soft tissue movement and mobility, reduce pain and tightness and to encourage blood and lymphatic flow to reduce symptoms and prevent future injuries. Sports massage techniques can also help with a host of lifestyle issues created by day to day posture issues from achy neck/shoulders/back from screen work in the office to bad backs from too much gardening. Don`t be put off by the title.
mobility cupping
Cupping is a form of massage therapy which decompresses soft tissues using vacuum suction, unlike other forms of massage that compresses soft tissues. During cupping, the cup gently sucks to your skin and lifts underlying soft tissue into the cup.
This creates a myofascial decompression effect and increased blood flow, which all help towards reducing pain and tightness and increases the rate of recovery from injury and the range of motion of the affected area.
This is used in conjunction with Sport Massage Techniques and is not often done as a standalone treatment,
